Owensboro considering funding boost for new food warehouse project

OWENSBORO, Ken. (WFIE) – A big step forward in the fight against hunger for those in Owensboro.

The city is considering a significant boost in funding for a new food warehouse project that promises to deliver more fresh meals to those who need them most. The City of Owensboro may boost its contribution to the Green River Community Food Warehouse project to $500,000. Officials say this 20,000-square-foot facility will store large amounts of donated fresh food, like produce and meats.
